Pay Me Links: Accept Open-Ended Crypto Payments
Most payment links require a fixed amount. You set $49, the customer pays $49. That model works for product checkouts — but it’s the wrong tool for tips, open-ended donations, consultations billed at the end, or anything where the customer decides what to pay.
Pay Me links are a personal payment page at mutopay.com/pay/@yourname. Visitors enter any amount, leave an optional note, and land on the standard MutoPay checkout — where they can pay with any of 1,000+ tokens across 10 chains and you receive your chosen stablecoin.
Who this is for
- Freelancers and consultants who bill after a session and want to send a single link regardless of the final amount
- Content creators and streamers accepting tips or patron payments without building a subscription product
- Communities and open-source projects collecting voluntary contributions toward a goal
How the Pay Me page works
Your Pay Me URL looks like mutopay.com/pay/@yourslug. Anyone who visits sees your business name, an optional tagline, and an optional description — followed by a simple form: amount, currency, and a note field.
When they submit, MutoPay creates a standard payment link in the background and sends them straight to checkout. The note they typed becomes the payment description, so you see it in your dashboard alongside every payment.
From checkout they pick any token on any of the 10 supported chains — Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Avalanche, BNB Chain, TON, Solana, or Tron. MutoPay converts and routes automatically. You receive in your preferred stablecoin, directly in your wallet.
Setting up your Pay Me page
- Log in at mutopay.com/dashboard.
- Open Settings → Pay Me Page.
- Choose your slug. Your URL will be
mutopay.com/pay/@yourslug. Alphanumeric and hyphens only, 3–40 characters. - Optionally add a tagline (shown under your business name) and a page description (shown above the payment form). These help visitors understand what they’re paying for.
- Save and share the link. Put it in your email signature, Telegram bio, website footer, or anywhere you want to receive payments.
Make sure your wallet address and preferred settlement token are set first — the Pay Me page won’t activate until they are.
FAQ
Can I set a suggested amount? Not directly on the amount field, but you can put a suggestion in your page tagline or description. For example: “Pay what feels right — suggested $20/session.”
What currencies can customers pay in? Any of 1,000+ tokens on 10 chains. EVM tokens via MetaMask or WalletConnect, TON tokens via TonConnect, Solana tokens via Phantom or Backpack, and Tron tokens via manual deposit.
Where do the funds go? Directly to your configured wallet address, in your chosen settlement token (USDC, USDT, DAI, or TON). MutoPay never holds your funds.
Is there a minimum amount? No minimum. Customers can enter any positive amount in any of 50+ supported fiat currencies.
Do I get notified when someone pays?
Yes. A payment.completed webhook fires to your configured URL when the payment confirms. You’ll also see it in your dashboard under Payments.
